Catch 22 - Health Insurance for UN Interns - Advice Needed

I'm soon to be starting as an intern at the UN and have run into a sizeable problem. I'm a non-EU citizen so....


1. Health Insurance: I'm applying to the Canton for an exemption from the Swiss health insurance requirement so that I can use the cheaper options (SwissCare). In order to complete the Canton form I need a confirmation of placement with the UN and a residency permit.


2. Residency permit: In order to apply for the residency permit, I need a confirmation of placement from the UN


3. UN: In order to confirm my placement, the UN needs my application paperwork, including..... proof of health insurance


 


Has anybody ever come across this problem before?


Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

You should check on www.winhealthgroup.com


The Magellan insurance plan is exclusively dedicated for temporary insurance to the UN and they provide you with your health insurance certificate automatically after your online application. Very efficient.

Do you have health insurance in your home country? If so, you can use that for the exemption.
