Changing CMOS battery for Dummies

Hi,

As I'm encountering recurrent "time & date setting" problems on my laptop (Aspire), I've checked on the Net and found out that it's probably my CMOS battery which needs to be replaced.

Also found on youtube this video showing how to change the battery:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg_wvp1YdSI

The change of the battery itself seems to be easy but the second part with settings … I have no idea "where-to-go-on-my-computer-to-get-that-kind-of-screen".

Question: is it reasonable to imagine changing this CMOS battery myself, considering that I've no idea where to buy the battery (yet), I don’t have the book for Dummies and that I'm slightly blond with computer language ??

Thanks for your help ...

If you are talking about the screen at 25s, that is just the BIOS loading, which looks diffrent from one computer to the other. The BIOS is the Basic Input Output System, which is loaded before the OS (Operating System) most probably a Windows version.

If you are talking about the screen around 3:49, that is an other BIOS loading. Usually, it says which button you have to press to enter BIOS menu. F2, F8 or DEL are common.
