Changing coins at bankomat machine ?

Sure there's an old thread but can't find it.!

Anybody know if you can dump a bag of coins into a special ATM machine??

I'm with BCGE and I see they have a place near Bel Air with MultiBankoMat ATM or something on the sign in the window and about six machines inside.

Anybody know how to do this??  It's just a couple of hundred chf from daughters piggy bank, I don't wanna stand in line to be told I need to fill in forms and bring my mother with me or something :)

Do you just go in with a bag of mixed coin?

Or must you go first and get some little bags and sort it all out?

I've actually never been in a post office in CH yet  :)

I am not sure, if every Postoffice has one, but usually, those machines don't need you to seperate the coins. Just remove all non-coin items.

I take mine in one bag directly to my bank - they will then pass it through a machine and put it directly into my account. I am with UBS - but my local branch don't have this service so I have to go to a bigger branch. It cost nothing, and if I have a lot (once I had over 2000 CHF) then they will take my details and credit the amount to my account - I do not have to wait there.

@John

What about a New Year’s resolution to visit a Swiss Post Office?

Be brave.  The staff don’t bite very hard.

Take your wallet, too, ‘cos they sell all sorts of tempting stuff for small children.

Best, R.

bcge does. i go to bcge and put them in the tray for versement. There are some that take only notes and some take coins. there is usually at least one. The one at bel air has one. All you need is your card or child's card.

The poste has a different story. you need to get some slips and then have to roll them after sorting them. the bank is better.
