Hi all,
I will arrive in Geneva this week. I haven't found a house to live, so I need to find a relatively cheap hotel/hostel in Servette to stay one or two days before I settle. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I dont know anything cheap in Servette but i have a question? You are looking for somewhere to stay for two days and in those two days you will expect to find a permanent place?
If thats the case better look for something temporary for at least a month!

Thank you Maria, but why so? Is one-month accommodation easier to find than four-month accommodation, since I will leave in January?

A ok. I thought you were here long term. Anyway since the housing situation is very difficult in Geneva, you are much better off looking for a sublet or a room in a house. People have been looking for accomondation much longer that 4 months!
So start looking at adverts in forums or at the university or where you will be working (dont know why you are coming to Geneva sorry!) and hopefully you will be fine. Just remember never ever ever sent money by western union! And never sign a lease for something that you have not seen
