Chene-Bougeries: Your opinion

Hello,


My family is currently looking to rent a flat in Geneva. We have two small children, so need to find somewhere where all the necessary things are nearby (supermarket, parks, playgrounds, etc) So far we have found a place near Route de Chene, close to the part where Geneva ends and Chene-Bougeries begins.


Is this a good area to live? How long does it take to get to the centre of town? What is its overall reputation like? (because we were told, for example, that the Paquis is not the best area for small children..) And generally, if you have any knowledge about the area I would be happy to hear your opinion.

Hi Ksenia


We live in Chene- Bourg (just a little further on down the road) and we find it very suitable (although in saying that we do not have small children - 1 x 14 yr old boy). It takes very little time to get into town on the many trams that run and to drive is extremely easy as the road leads right to Pont du Mt Blanc. All the facilities (supermarkets resturants etc ) are in easy distance as is the border (we do all our grocery shopping in France..) Hope this helps in some small way.

Hi Ksenia, I also live in the neighbourhood and agree with Jeff. Dependent on where exactly the place is there may not be a supermarket immediately next door. The side streets off route de Chene are quiet.

Hi, I also live in that neighbourhood. Just got there but i like it. I don't have any kids, but the neighbourhood is very nice. It's very close to the parc des Eaux Vives / parc de la Grange (10 minutes walk). The tram (every 5 minutes) takes you to the city centre in no time.

I +1 to Jeff, Bert and Wadse's comments. Its a very nice area to live in and meets all the criteria you described earlier.

Hi, Ksenia. We live in Chene-Bougeries. and we have a boy, he is 7 years. We like the area. There are playgrounds and the city center from your place is 10 min by tram or  20 by walk. I do not know the reputation but I think it is good. If you have any other questions please feel ask
