Child benefit in Switzerland

Hello,
I've moved to Switzerland from the UK.  In the UK, when a woman claims child benefit, she also gets NI credits towards her pension etc.

Does the Swiss system also provide NI/pension credits for claimants?

I'm trying to establish whether I need to make voluntary NI contributions in the UK, to maintain my UK pension entitlement.  The UK NI office told me that if Switzerland give child benefit claimants an NI/pension credit then this would be 'taken into account' in the UK (i.e. I may not need to make the voluntary payments.  Does anyone know?  Please don't tell me to phone someone here and ask - my French is only really basic!!

Thankyou.

hello helen,

You need to keep up your payments for a uk pension(payable here if you stay)

Once you have made 30 years of contributions, you are entitled to uk pension,  any contributions made after 30 years don't make any difference to your pension but entitle you to widows pension.

I've never been able to get my head entirely around the swiss system so won't risk giving you false info.....
