Childcare for a 3 year old, what to do? Need your help!!
We have a three year old and I must find a solution for her since I'm going to start working fulltime in June. Please I need your advice!!

I have contacted Bipe, but it'll be impossible to find a place in a creche before she starts school (in one and a half year!). I have also contacted some maman de jour but the ones I met were not very serious.

One solution would be to find a private creche in geneva (on the same side as Cornavin) that is open during most of the year (I've found some creches but they are closed for 2 months during summer...1 month I would be able to manage). If you know any private creche any maman de jour (that you can recommend) or if you would like to share a nanny please let me know!

Crossing my fingers that someone know something that I don't know about (not yet!). :o)

About the creches/maman de jour/nanny, we are open for english or french speaking creches.

Not sure how far you want to travel, however the little boy I take care of goes to a creche in Chene Bourg, it is only close for 3 weeks in August. It is open from 8 am until 6pm, and the payment is based on your income. It is really easy to take the tram and just walk a block to drop her off. The teachers there are amazing and made the transition very easy for Julian. He did no speak a word of french last year and now he is fluent. I wish you the best of luck in finding something I know it can be hard.

Thank you Prin!

If it's a creche that the payment is based on your income I guess it's not a private one, right? If it's not a private one I won't be able to get a place, because there is 3000 children on waitinglist in Geneva....:o(

I'm not sure the whole situation, I will try and remember to ask them if they have spots open of not and let you know. I will also ask to see if they have any advice for you as well. If nothing else why not look for an Au Pair?

Prin, that would be great if you could do that!  We don't have room for an "au pair".

I am currently looking for a live out Aupair position. I am English speaking and would be avaliable in June. The family I am currently working for is moving back to the states. You are in Geneva correct? I would be happy to give you some refrences and a cv if needed.

Tess,

Hello! I can imagine your frustration! I am from Caifornia and here with my fiance who is working days in Geneva. I am home all day, love children, have taken care of infants all the way up to 10 year olds. I studied natural Health in LA and love to be outdoors. We should meet up and see if we are a good match, I would be delighted to have a little partner to take care of!
