I just found out that there are no simple Christmas cards, like normal post cards, in Geneva. Or perhaps in the whole of Switzerland? You can only get those double ones with envelope here. Helloooooooo??????? WTF?

When God had finished creating Switzerland in outline, he said to the first Swiss: „I shall grant you three wishes. What would you like?“„Well, first of all, imposing mountains. “ And the Lord created the most magnificent mountains. „What else? No need to be shy. “ „Green, juicy meadows with cows that will produce a lot of excellent milk.“ And God created green meadows with excellent dairy cattle. The Swiss decided to make sure, milked one of the cows, and tasted the milk. „Is it good? “ God asked. „Excellent! Taste it Yourself, Lord! “and he passed God a glass of milk. „You’re right, it is excellent“, God said. „And what would you like now? “ „Five francs for the glass of milk“ the Swiss replied.

More important where can I get a reasonable priced/sized turkey here?
Last year my in-laws in Geneva proudly presented me a turkey to roast with the comment that it was going to be just like an English Christmas... The turkey was just about 2 kilos and there was at least 10 of us to to feed! The price was over 40 francs!
In Spain I buy a 7 kilo turkey for 25€ or a 2 kilo free range corn fed chicken at worst case 10€.
So once again a turkey that is not pretending to be a large chicken please and that doesn't pretend its made of gold.
Remember a turkey is not just for Christmas, it's for Boxing Day, and right up until new year!
Turkey is for once a year, the idea is after 5 days of Roast Turkey, Turkey Curry, Turkey Pie, Turkey Sandwiches, etc... you don't want to see a Turkey again until next Christmas.

Thomas - I think you can order stamps more cheaply from some child-labour-sweat-shop in southern China or Vietnam.
But I'm struggling with this thread. Christmas cards? Is that what people used to use before e-cards, email, twitter and facebook?

Liz has a fantastic selection of cards, wrapping paper etc. If you're in the Montreux area you can go to her place to buy, or you can order online.
