Commuting from Gaillard or Ferney Voltaire...

Pardon if this information is readily available elsewhere. I'm on my phone and navigating the site via mobile is infuriating...

Can anyone share their experiences of commuting from France (Fernyvoltaire, Gaillard) to the city center daily for work? I'll be working at the opera for 7 weeks, which will mean some late nights. Some colleagues recommended against it since bus service was irregular, and not at all convenient late at night. I'm not sure an hour+ round trip commute each day is what I'm up for.

Any thoughts?

I used to work in the lawyers quarter, right up the Old town, commuting by bus to Ferney used to take me 1 hour in the evening during rush hour (about 50 min in the morning).

From the Opera, I think you are almost kind of half way, although, from Bel Air, you have access to Tram 12 which take you to Moillesullaz within 15-20 min, and if you live just by/near Gaillard's entrance, it could be faster.

Gaillard is much much cheaper than Ferney (the most expensive town in France).

Good luck in making your decision!

Ferney Voltaire it's a nice place to live, on Saturday there is a farmers market with fresh vegetables and fruits, etc; but the prices are not low

How late is late? You would have to leave the Opera around 11.30 to get the last bus to Ferney.
