Computer Assistance
Hi,

Is anyone computer savvy enough to help me with my laptop issue.

It powers up but does not seem to display anything on the screen.  Totally blank.  I tried the Fn F4 or Fn F7 thing. Still nothing.

Or if someone knows of a computer repair shop in Lausanne that would be awesome.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi,

I would suggest if you thing the laptop has actually powered up but the screen is blank, try attaching an external monitor (automatically will work with Win XP) if you have to one and then try again, the screen will be a duplicate of the laptop screen and then you have the opportunity to see if any error messages appear.

Shine a powerful flashlight on the screen (or take it out into the sun) see what you can see. If you can see the normal screen and it's just not lit up, you've lost either the backlight or the inverter card. If you see nothing the problem runs deeper.
