We were recently quoted $650chf to have our 7 month old dog spayed, seems outrageous to me. The normal cost in Canada would be $175-200.
No this isnt our first dog, no I dont need any responses saying Suisse is expensive (we've lived here for 4 years). No I dont need any dog advice... etc
Anyone have a better price, name of vet, experience etc... Would be willing to go to Annecy or to Lausanne.

That's pretty close to what I was quoted. We took our puppy back to the states and had it done. Even with the airline cabin fees, it was still a couple hundred less.

This is just a shot in the dark, but the SGPA (Société genevoise pour la Protection des animaux) might be able to advise you. There’s also an equivalent organization in Vaud if that would be geographically more convenient for you. Contact details are on the web.

Some vets do charge more according to dog size and other.
If you are to consider surgical action with a tight budget you should investigate with the Veterinarian School in Lyon / VetAgro Sup as the in-house pet clinic is always under experienced vets supervision:
