Does anyone have any recommendations as far as winter daytrips or a good overnight trip? I have Friday and Saturday free and am looking to go somewhere.
Thanks!

You could also go to Annecy (France) or to Lake Constance (Germany). You'd leave Switzerland, but you wouldn't be far away. Both have a really nice old town to visit and a lake.
For Annecy, you could take the bus from the gare routiere (I believe the station in Annecy is right in the city center), and for Constance (Konstanz) you'd take the train. Annecy's bus ride is about 1 hour/hour and a half and Konstanz is about 4-5 hours by train. The train station in Konstanz is literally in the city and within short walking distance of the harbor.
Hotels would probably be cheaper in Annecy, but if you're doing Airbnb, it might be a non-issue.
Enjoy your short trip :)

Nice. I will definitely check this out!
Thanks, Froilan. I have been to Annecy, but not to Lake Constance. I will check it out!

Annecy is like 1hour away, its really nice but limited of interest, but perfect for a day trip.
Also Lyon is very nice and great food, just watch your wallet from pickpockets.
Zermat, Chateau Gruyer, Chateau Chillon, is a must.
If coming back from Zermat or Ovronnaz, take a few hours and check out/relax at the thermal bath , its great: http://www.lavey-les-bains.ch/en
again reasonable prices.

I always take visitors to Gruyer.
I find it is best to go in summer, but in winter there is a lot to do as well, chocolate factory, cheese factory, Geiger museum (maybe not for young children) and of course the castle.
The castle is really open, hence me not visiting it in the winter.
Another "day-trip" that I really enjoy is going to Vevey. The market is nice, a good walk along the lake and some nice restaurants for lunch.
Overnight trip, I normally drive to Milan, only 3.5 hours there (by car) and there is a lot to do during the day, many museums a lot of "factory outlets" for clothing, general calm atmosphere and of course excellent ice cream.
Enjoy wherever you decide to go!
