Dog parks in Satigny or Bernex

Hi,


I live in Thoiry, and am looking for an off leash, fenced area that does not require driving through Geneva traffic. We have a Siberian Husky, so the preference is that it really be enclosed.


I found this map of parks around Geneva: http://ge.ch/nature/media/nature/files/fichiers/documents/plan-chiens-geneve-ok-basse-def.pdf


According to the map, #14 in Satigny or #44 near Bernex should both be enclosed spaces. We went and looked for both, but could not find either park. #14 has some very nice shady trails. People do seem to walk with there dogs there, and even ocassionally let them off leash (though according to the signs this does not seem to be allowed.) We could not even find the park location for #44. There does not appear to really be anything there.
Does anyone know if these places actually exist and I'm just looking in the wrong spot?

Ben - given you live in Thoiry, have you contacted your local town hall there - I should imagine there would be something closer to you. I know there is a dog training school close to the local football stadium in Thoiry - perhaps they can help. Cheers

It's true, Thoiry is a bit far from the places I was looking. The vet suggested that there are not really off leash areas in France, though there are in Switzerland, which is why I was looking there. The dog training area is interesting. I have walked by it, but I assumed it was for dog classes that you have to pay for. I just want him to run around and play. Though I'm sure dog classes would be useful too.

For maps and ino on all sorts of activities in Geneva, go to the City’s Information Centre on Pont de la Machine in down-town Geneva.


They have loads of leaflets and brochures and the staff are very helpful.  Open Monday through Saturday, but closed Sunday.
