Doing a business in Geneva with "D" Permit

Hi,everybody in the forum,Smile

Came with "a Thread" to forum to say Hello to you all.

Am with a "D" (As a spouse) permit and hope to start a business in geneva .

I found that garment items are very expensive here and like to do a import business in that industry in a small scale.

I do have experience in this field back home and can give quality products for low prices.

Love to start it with onlie store .

All ideas and experiencees are greatly appretiated.

I suppose you meant " D permit" as a card de legitimation ? since your spouse is either employed by a diplomatic mission OR working in UN or similar international organization.

Should this be the case you ought to enquire with the Swiss Mission to UN or Missions diplomatiques and find out whether or not you might need to apply for another permit once your status change from spouse of international employee to private entrepreneur...See below

Importation of goods is tricky and has alot of legal aspects.

Including TVA, Business licences, Liabilities, insurance, etc.

If your diplomatic, and you get caught doing business out of your permit status, they will contact your 'consulat/mission' of your country of diplomatic status/origin asking for clarrification. You will not be exempt of any trade penalties, this is not exempt by the Swiss diplomatic system. So beware and good luck. Very important in Switzerland is pay Taxes, get insurance, ensure correct business practices (all relative) but that means pay suppliers and taxes.
