Employer call Regie on your behalf

Hello all,  Sorry for yet another regie post.

I'm pulling together a dossier for apartments and asked my employer for a letter of recommendation, but it's a bit sparse because I just started with them a month ago.  My director offered to call the regie as well on my behalf, if I thought this would help.  Does anyone have experience with this? I don't know if this would be looked on positively or seen as an annoyance.  I'd appreciate your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks!!

I do not think a call would help, unless he knows somebody there informally... I doubt the regie's employee will make a note of the telephone conversation and attach to your file or to the resumé of applications to be presented to either the owner of the place or to the person responsible within the régie for the choice of the tenant.

I believe it would be more efficient, and still simple, to write a recommendation letter saying that you do work, that it is a permanent post, that you' re a reliable person. Then you're sure it's there in your application file.

This being said, I do not have any insider experience of how regies operate. Maybe somebody on the GLocals fora will know more if worked for any of them.

Good luck.

Thanks!  I've already turned in the letter of recommendation, so I'll just leave it at that.
