Employment Lawyer in Geneva??

Does anyone know of a Laywer in Geneva who specialises in emplyment law? I was recently dismissed form my company on the grounds that the manager doesnt think 'girls belong on the sales floor' yeap that was his real reason.

Ive been protesting it for 2 months to the owner who originally employed me when i was in London but it seems as i was based in Switzerland and the company head office is also in Switzerland so i need to persue it there rather than in the UK.

Theyve offered me a ridiculously small settlement to drop it, but im so annoyed at the way the company treats its staff i refuse to walk away and be another victim. If anyone knows of a laywer or can offer some advice it would be much appericated

A friend recommended the following when I was thinking about some things from work:
http://www.permanence-juridique-geneve.ch/index.php

I was going to pay 50chf for a 30 minute consultation. The receptionist didn't speak English, but I was able to schedule an appointment with a lawyer that did.

I didn't need the appointment in the end so I can't speak to the quality of advice.

Good luck.

I had visited the Permanance in 2013, they dont do much. They just listed and give you 5 minutes of reading from the Code des Obligation. I walked away with no solution and 50- cash out of my wallet. They will ask it upfront.

Would be great to find an accociation similiar to Asloca, for the subject of Employment disputes.

If anyone knows for Geneva and Lausanne, im sure many will appreciate.

Uh, Nikki's post was in August 2009, and she has not visited Glocals since that time....

But Dave is right. If anyone knows of an association that can help (or a labor lawyer), please post it here, since the conversation has been re-opened, so that others who may be in a similar situation may benefit from it.

I recommend Sarah Halperin (Etude Odier Halpérin Steinmann). She is specialized in labor law and is fluent in English.

I have looked into Unia, if you join/membership, you can get help with labor disputes.

The cost is according to salary. http://unia.ch

Also there is helpful information in English on CAGI    https://www.cagi.ch/en/home.php

Then with Swiss confederation has helpful information in English

https://www.eda.admin.ch/missions/mission-onu-geneve/en/home/manual-regime-privileges-and-immunities/introduction/manual-labour-law/labour-conditions.html

Also Swiss Civil code that protects workers, employers, and contractors rights, go to Title 10 and read sections 319 to 379 :

https://www.admin.ch/opc/en/classified-compilation/19110009/index.html

Finally, shop for Legal insurance or 'Assurance Juridique', where you can visit there advisors who can lead you in the right direction. I use Generali, in Nyon. But you can get the same from any insurance company and also TCS (Touring Club Suisse).
