English Bacon

So I moved over to Geneva from London last Friday and have noticed they do not sell bacon in the coop or migros. All of a sudden I feel the need for a nice bacon sandwich.

Does anyone know where I may find this what may now seem rare treat? :)

You can get it from Jim: http://www.jims-british-market.com/

Otherwise I've heard rumours of people smuggling personal supplies in suitcases, but I know nothing about that...

Thanks Fionnuala!

I think a colleague of mine lives near there, I may need to convince her to buy me some :)

Hmm, I'll admit I've always taken back Irish sausages whenever I visit my family in Dublin, but that was when I was living in the UK, probably safer not to risk it

If you fancy a bit of a drive, Intermarche in Peron, (France) has a fridge full of proper rashers for sale. Had me a bacon butty the other night so I did. They also have puka pies, red/white cheddar, beans, custard and if caught close to delivery day, frozen sausages.

Cheers Martin, I'll have to check it out later today.

Unfortunately I do not have a car so trips to France will be rare (unless it's to the aples for a day of snowboarding)

I saw this english produce yesterday .. hams, bacon, cheeses .. the reason its "at a price", is because, it being Globus, its all artisinale and organic stuff.

There is also english sparkling wine, which has been winning wine competitions for years .. and is no more expensive than cheap champagne. bargain ..

I totally agree, i was very pleasantly surprised how good their sausages were. And futher the prices were reasonable, considering other Anglaphone expat shops, are quite expensive.
