Eye Emergency - Please Help!!
Hi GoL friends!!

Does someone know of a good English speaking Opthalmologist in Geneva that might accept walk ins or same day appointments? I did something to my eye and the pain and irritation seem to be getting worse quickly. I really don't wanna be wearing at eye-patch for the next big party!!

Thanks for your help!!
Betsy

Thanks, FiFi, Hoiling and Nir for your help and concern!! I am going to get on the phone to see if I can schedule an appointment. But I would be more than happy to get the names of other doctors, so that I have some other options in case the two docotrs I have contact info for can't see me today!

And don't worry, Nir....I don't have a car. But I can drive a BMW real good!! :)

In Geneva, they have what are called "Permanance", which are places where you can just walk-in and go see a doctor. Many of them have specialists you can see on short notice. They are a bit more expensive, but this usually isn't an issue with most insurances. There is the Permanence Cornavin, Permanence Chantepoulet and others.

Also, the Hopital Cantonale Geneve (Champel) has an Emergency Room. But between the two, I'd choose the Permanence - because the Emergency room usually entails a many-hour wait. (I know this because three different from-abroad houseguests have managed to put themselves in a state where I had to take them to the emergency room - strange!)
