Eye Surgery in Geneva

Can anyone give me advice about eye surgery in Geneva? I know some persons who did it at Vision Laser and others at Hopital de la Tour. As my case seems to be a bit complicated, I was wondering if anyone else could recommend one of these two or some other place in Geneva? The price does not really matter, most important is the quality of the surgery of course.

Thanks a lot!

Think very carefully about eye surgery. I did it 3 years ago at Vision Laser and got most of the side-effects that are contained in a 3 pages warning (déclaration de consentement éclairé).

Whatever people say, Lasik is not so safe as the eye surgeons would like us to believe.

Have a look at this link and think twice:

http://www.lasikcomplications.com

If you want to get your nearsightedness fixed, choose rather the "PRK" which is the older technique and is far less risky although painful after the operation.

Many but I will mention reduced night vision, dazzling, starburst effects and worst of all the floaters and vitroretinal damage.

Be aware that when you have your eyes undergo Lasik operation this will be definitive. There is no way back.

I got to know some people - even young ones - thinking about suicide after the operation turned wrong.

Besides you can the best surgeon in the world, Lasik is anyhow very dangerous and we don't know the long-term effects.

i also decided to do the old and good PRK, because it seemed less risky. But be aware, recovery after PRK is painful compared to lasik. burning eyes during 3-4 days, full vision only after 10-15 days.

In my case, i got the famous night halos and dry eyes. But i'd do it a 100 times again if needed, as i couldnt see anything at all without glasses.

I won't be able to recommend a clinic in Geneva, but I want to say some good words re' Lasic - I've done mine 1,5 years ago and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

Three of my friends have done it before me and three after, inspired by my case. None of them regret or complain on anything.

P.S. I can recommend very good doctors in Ukraine. We have a big specialized eye-clinic in Odessa, the best one in former USSR countries. All special cases usually land there

Thanks for all your answers! Seems that it is a very personal decision and different from one person to the other.
