The first week I am in Geneva, I will be staying at a bed and breakfast in Ferney-Voltaire. I am unsure of whether they have wifi--are there many cafes or bookstores in Ferney that offer free wifi? Not something you have pay by the hour but generally free wifi? Thanks!

someone told me there was wireless at a little brasserie (or something) next to the Champion/Carrefour in the center of town. But, she also said it's not always working.
Ferney is a really small town, but I would expect the b&b to have WiFi. If not, go to Geneva. there are several places there....

There are several FON places in Ferney-Voltaire. It is not free but not very expensive. I hope this will help you.

Thanks for that info! To be more specific--any idea how expensive it would be per hour? Anyone visit some of these places and are there some quieter spots (bookstores or cafes) that would allow for a couple of hours of checking emails, etc.?

In the big Carrefour there is a brasserie with wifi and I think it's free.

Also La Reserve (a residence hotel) has a nice resto/bar/lounge (even garden!) with wifi.
