Fishing on the Lake
Got my licence, got all the gear, got a coolbox that holds enough beer to last from about 7am to lunchtime on a Sunday... I just need to know:

Any good spots near Nyon?

Types of fish out there and are they top or bottom feeders?

And subsequently what bait is best?  livebait? Squid/prawns? Lures?

I've always fished in estuaries of the sea relying on the top two hours of high tide for the best catches, or out in the sea on a boat...obviously!  So Lake fishing is somewhat new to me, but really miss this old hobby of mine, so I'd appreciate any tips so that my cool box is not just full of empty bottles on the way home!

And for those that know me and are thinking..."fishing??" - Don't knock it till you've tried it... beer, tranquility and killing your own lunch! :w00t:

So serious answers please and no doubt likely piss-takes from people like Trev, Dave H, Bruce, Nir...etc... Fill your boots... I can take it! :P

Cheers Roger - Yes, I forgot to put your name on the original message... should have guessed you'd find something poetic or analogetical (is that a word?) about it. :P

YES!!!  To my surprise too... but that's not the half of it... get this:

10chf for a day.... 40chf for a month... or 70chf for a year... what would a normal guy like me do??  Yes..."I'll have the year licence please!" - Value for money and all that...

However...

If you take a year licence you then have to get the licenced 'Certified' by attending a 3 hour 'Conservation' lecture in Lausanne!!!  Having told them it's pointless because I don't speak French... they said "That's ok, you only have to 'attend'...!  How very Swiss, I thought!:D

Hey Deano1uk...

I did not want to start a new thread... might as well ask you. Laughing

Did you ever get your questions answered? have the same question.

Have you gone fishing on the lake? Are there specific areas only for fishing? Looking for a place to just kick back and chill.

Or anybody have any info on fishing areas in geneva or france would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I am looking to try some fishing in Lake Geneva.

I have not fished for a long time but keen to get back into something outdoorsy as I dont ski!

Can anybody help me find the best way to start ie Licence, certificates and any clubs that can provide a boat etc.

Best Regards
