Fixing a steam iron?

One of those irons with a big water well underneath it.

Would it be worth it to get it fixed? How much would it cost (approx) and where could you get it done? The iron was not bought here.

Thanks.

The easiest and simplest solution is to buy a new iron.

Best, R.

You should decide based on the additional features your steam iron is offering, the replacement cost of the close-to-identical model and the problem you encounter with your own iron. Whether it be blocked by calcium residus, short circuited or broken part(s) come to a different financial outcome. We cannot give any advice unless you tell us more on your model.

Ritchie is right if you are considering a model below CHF 100.- as very often just labour charges amount to CHF 70.- not to add up the extras.
