Thanks for the link, could be a good idea to go with a guide to begin with and ask him about fishing here in Switzerland. Im interested if we could go like 3 - 4 guys...
Let me know what you think and please let me know if you get any additional information about fly fishing here in Suisse.
Cheers,
Palli

Did anyone have any luck? I was wanting to organise a guide for my partners birthday and am having a bit of trouble. Is there a specific area close-ish?
Any help appreciated!

There is relatively good fly fishing in Haute Savoie, France within 30 to 45 minutes drive of Geneva. Best place to check is an outfitter in Pont de Fillinges called Le Rond dans L'Eau who can point you to a guide or local river. I personally fish Le Menoge in the Vallee Verte and the Dranse de Bellevaux, but have explored as far as the Fier near Annecy. There are hundreds of km of streams in the region with good populations of fish.

Hello everyone.
As you had been discussing above, let's share a local guide for fly fishing in Geneva / nearby France. I am new to this area and not very experienced. I would opt for realtively easy casting conditions, though may go for something more demanding should you prefer this. Saw few webpages offering in French :-( Have a relatively easy schedule, weekends would often work for me. I would be also happy just to join anyone for a day, etc. Anyone interested?
+41795505416 or write please.

Hello everybody,
I started with flyfishing last summer in Finland and since then I am desperately looking for some nice spots around Geneva area. Is there someone who could give me a few ideas? Thanks a million!

Dear all,
This post has been going on for a few years now, but I hope some of you are still in Geneva (region). Is anyone of you going to fish some time soon? I'd love to join and explore the lake and rivers.
Back in Holland, I used to fish pike, mostly with jerkbaits, shads, etc., but I'm quite fond of carp fishing too. Interested in flyfishing too, although I've never done this before.
If you're planning on fishing and don't mind me tagging along, please let me know!
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul, you posted a few months ago, but I just moved to Lausanne this past month. I am from Montana originally and grew up Fly Fishing. Have you had an opportunity to get out on some rivers or streams yet? I would be interested in going sometime if you are still in the area.
Cheers,
Ruthi

Hi Ruthi,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I have had to temporarily leave Geneva. If and when I do come back, I'll let you know and we can meet up for some fishing.
All best,
Paul

Hey, I'd be interested in fly fishing if anyone else is? I also have a car so can help with transport.
Best wishes,
Mike

Hi Paul, no worries. Wishing you all the best!
Mike, I would definitely be up for Fly Fishing. I put in an inquiry with "Have a Go Fly Fishing" (website below) to get some beta on local rivers. I don't have a rod here yet, so I will likely rent or buy from Romandie Fishing (fly shop in Lausanne). Do you know of any local rivers to explore? I have heard that the Jura area (near Lyon, France) is stock full of trout.

Hi All,
Just moved from Geneva to canton Vaud not too long ago...there is the river Orbe in Vallorbe which is pretty nice for dry fly fishing. It's not too big but has plenty of trouts actively feeding from the surface. Should check it out if you like small stream dry fly fishing.
Best,
Chau

Ruthi, I haven't managed to get out fishing in either Switzerland or France yet. Did your enquiries find out anything about permits?
Chau, same question: How do you get permission to fish the Orbe?
Let's find out what's what and head to a river soon!

Mike, you can get a daily permit for chf 15 at the tourist information office in Vallorbe. Its very easy to find. As far as I know, the river is open for troute fishing until October 6...
Best regards,

Thanks Chau. will have to explore!
Hey Palli,
I'm aware that you posted ages ago - and by now probably have found a place to cast your line.. Nevertheless, I thought I might share with any other fly fishermen on this thread the website I go to to find fishing locations in the region. www.fishinghobs.com
It's not the best website out there, has many design faults, but should help anyway. Otherwise, "Pêche Romandie" or peche-mouche.ch are good places to find the same info.
Glad to help,
Con.
