Free Wifi in Geneva
Hi Folks

A few people suggested that we create a list of cafes/bars/restaurants that offer free wifi connections in Geneva.

Free Wifi means that you can surf the internet, for free, if you bring a laptop or other wireless internet enabled device.

So - if you know of places in Geneva that offer free Wifi, please add them to the list, and please also add a short description/review of the place, so people know if its the kind of place where they can sit/work for hours, or a busy place where they will be kiscked out after a few minutes.

Thanks

Oded

Le Calamar - Boulevard Carl-Vogt 91 (Next to the University of Geneva - in Plains Pallais)

Cool cafe/restaurant with a good atmosphere.  If you come during the day, you can sit for a few hours and work/surf.

It get busy during lunch and dinner, and turns into a pretty lively bar at night, so if you want to work in peace, come in the morning, or after lunch (around 13)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parc de Bastions - Free Wifi in the park, and at the restaurant/cafe

Beautiful park, relaxed restaurant/cafe, with outdoor seating in the summer.

Great place to relax, surf the web, and watch people playing 'Giant Chess'

O

Hi,

You can find a pretty exhaustive list on the following link:

http://www.ville-ge.ch/fr/media/pdf/220607.pdf

If you read French and want to go through the whole document, go ahead but remember it was your choice... ;-) if not you can rather jump directly into pages 9 & 10.

When it comes to bars, etc. you could find it @ Starbucks and also @ L'Atmosphere: 3, Rue Kleberg, it's a nice restaurant, bar, and usually full at lunch time.

Byes

I'm writing this in cafe de la presse. www.pubdelapresse.ch. 62-64 boulevard Saint-Georges. Corner of Boulevard St-Georges and Rue des Savoises. The WiFi seems to be behaving itself. It's 17.40 and starting to get busy and I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to keep on. It doesn't seem like the kind of place you would really sit and work for long. There are no sofas. All wood. Echoy. Not conducive to reading. Posting junk on forums is about all I can manage.

You can also search for hotspots here:

www.freespot.ch

It would also be helpful to know if places have power outlets available for laptops.
