Hi everyone - let me know if there is a better place to post this.
I recently recieved a letter titled 'Choix du systeme d'assurance-maladie applicable' my terrible French decoded it as a choice between the Swiss and French health cover.
I've heard that the French system is probably better for me as I don't earn much and they only take a couple of % off your monthly pay, however it seems that I have to get this letter signed by a CPAM (Caisse primaire d'assurance maladie) before I can submit my choice, either way.
My questions are:
Is this correct or has my French failed me again?
Where is the closest CPAM to geneva? Google is telling me its Annecy or Lyon - which seems excessively far.
Are there any other services I have to sign up to before I can get my letter signed by the CPAM? What are they?
Any advice you guys can offer would really help. The clock is ticking and I'm worried if I let the letter expire I'll be put on some unaffordable policy that'll force me back home.
Cheers!
