General Practitioner in Plainpalais area

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a English-speaking doctor in the Plainpalais area with walk-in consultation hours. If you can recommend any GP please let me know! As it seems to me, most doctors in Geneva don't have consultation hours and its by appointment only?

Thanks in advance!

You are right.  In Geneva, it t is almost impossible to find a doctor in private practice who offers walk-in consultations.

However, there are neighbourhood clinics and medical centres, many of which used to be known as “ “Permanances”.  Most of these offer walk-in services.

There’s an excellent  one in Eaux-Vives and I’ve heard that the Rond-Point medical centre in rue de Carouge is also very good.

You’ll find the exact address, etc. on google.

Best, R.

Most doctors speak English at these centers. There is also one in Planpalais. But you dont have a dedicated doctor who will be seeing you but whoever is there will take care of you.

However, I think it is better to have your own GP who has good connections. It makes your life much easier and in case of some more serious problem than a sore throat, it opens the doors for you quickly with the right specialists.

If you need to see your GP urgently, they will try to fit you in that day.
