Good place in Geneva to have tea?

I am wondering if there exists in Geneva a place where one can go sit and have some tea and its a nice setting and they have good quality of tea and a good selection as well. If the staff was knowledgeble about different types and grades of tea then that would be great too.

Also, a place where I can buy some loose tea and they have a very good selection. Globus has a decent selection but those teas are super expensive.

Hi Andrew,

there is this charming place, not in Geneva exactly, but in Ferney where you will not see the time pass:-)

All about it is a surprise!!
The name is Restaurant La Truite  (trout fish...)
but the specialty is meat ... and very good meat ... Charolaise,
as well as very nice Brasserie French cuisine.

Then... there is on the side a Salon de Thé
with a large choice of teas and coffees, to drink sur place or to buy

The setting is nice and original and the lady owner and the staff are all welcoming and helpful... What else to ask?!

If you do visit it, let us have your impressions
as you seem to be a tea connaisseur :-)

Andrew,

Cafe Le Samovar is quite nice (and open on Sunday).  They are in Plainpalais.

The true tea-specialists next to BNP Paribas:

Bonjour - Bonsoir

Rue du Stand 59

http://www.bonjour-bonsoir.com/

They have a mix of tea-and-cookie area with tables, a shop, and tea-testing counter - they invest an hour with you, pouring hot water over green leaves and letting you sip small cups of different teas!

Boreal is a great place to go for a coffee. Their americano is really nice. The tea there is terrible though.
