Google Plus alpha testing

Google plus  is in alpha at the moment and it's already excellent. Are many of you playing with this site yet or am I one of the privilieged few?

They understand social I think. I find the site works really well so far.

Hmm... lately, google has been trying to get itself into almost everything, i wonder if we'll shortly be seeing a google porntube.Tongue out

Google plus sounds like a more well rounded user friendly option, also considering the fact that Gplus will have deep integration within Andriod as well. Sounds exciting I believe, lets hope google plays it well this time.

Still waiting to get invited for this service however, lets hope this wait ends soon.

I got into Google+, but couldn't take the time and effort to learn a new system. Maybe if all my friends move from FB (and glocals!) over there. Until then, I'm staying with what I know.

Nir,

Probably a wise move.  Saying that, Google Plus looks clean and with a large following on GMail this venture should be succesful.  What I like about Google, is that it keeps its offering fresh and evolving.  Look at Yahoo and compare it to Google seearch over the last few years.  GoogleApps and Earth worth a mention, too.

well luckly, i am in ;),

User Privacy & Circles: For both, Buzz and Orkut the major reasons that lead to their failure was privacy. Google Plus has a newer more innovative and natural way of sharing things. Google Plus has circles! Just like in real life you have circles, circles or friends, work and family etc. same way in Google plus you have circles and you can share specific content with specific people! In Facebook you have friends, yes you can categorize them and hide content from some people and show it to others. But it’s certainly not that easy and importantly it doesn’t work always! Sharing is not that straight forward as it seems to be in Google Plus. And the best thing about it is that circles are easy to manage, just drag and drop contacts into its relevant circle.

Huddle! Another good feature in Google Pus is the Huddle!  Huddle allows different people, mostly a particular circle of friends to group message.

So is it the end of FACEBOOK?

This is not the end of Facebook neither in near future.

According to Facebook stats:

More than 500 million active users
50% of our active users log on to Facebook in any given day
Average user has 130 friends
People spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook

BUT here is a big threat to facebook,

There are over 200M Gmail accounts, and over 300M Google accounts between their various products. They're already two thirds of the way toward Facebook's userbase count.
