Gym - Kieser or Silhouette Acacias / Football (Soccer)
Hi,

My first topic! I'm moving to Gen in a couple of weeks (intending to do newbies drinks etc) and am looking at signing up at Kieser near Acacias or Silhouette Acacias. Seen a couple of topics re gyms but mine was slightly more specific. Does anyone go to either of these or can anyone give me a quick review? Or can you suggest another decent one in Acacias area.

I'm after somewhere with a few cardio machines (cross trainer, runner and bike will do), a good free weight area with a few different benches/good selection of dumbells, pull up bars, swiss balls etc. I don't mind paying a premium for a nice gym as I'll get the use out of it. Would also be nice to have somewhere with a sauna/steam room/pool etc if possible. (not too many requirements I know! :Whistling:)

I'll also be looking to play some football if anyone knows a team. 11 a side or 5 a side. Old fashioned centre back often compared to johnny o'shea (in style of play (i know he rarely plays centre back) and looks)...I can do a job up front as well, of course. Or a work horse on a 5/6 a side pitch who doesn't quite know when to stop running.

Thanks in advance

Hi Rob

I was also choosing between the two (was living nearby)

But I've been only to Silhouette - and it has most of the stuff u require, including the sauna. Yet, I think u might find the weightlifting area a bit tiny, and sorry - can't comment on the variety of their machines as I mostly stick to cardio :)

Kieser seems to be solely power machines, at least I thought so and chose Silhouette even if the other  one was closer.

A good start would be to take a 1st workout in both of them (about 20 chf) and then make a sophisticated choice, especially if u plan to spend quite lots of time in there

Enjoy, and :exclamation: make sure not to forget to refuse the contract in advance if u don't intend to continue the next year, otherwise they extend it automatically and it's impossible to get out of it without paying...

Hi,

You will not find any of your wishes at Kieser. No cardio, no free weights. Just weightlifting machines. The place is mostly geared towards injury rehab, but is a good alternative to other fitnesses where you show off.

Hope this helps,

Patrick

Hi Rob

I suggest you go for the Silhouette gym. Kieser is a killer, no cardio machines to warm up your muscles... At Silhouette you've got it all: Cross-trainers, bikes, runner... and weights to lift, as much as you want.

Hope it is of help.

G'night,

Miria
