HELP! Need info about unemployment for a frontalier

I'm afraid I am going to lose my job soon and I've been searching unsuccessfully for information about unemployment benefits for frontaliers. I have worked in Geneva for 7 years. Can anyone help?

I would suggest three leads.

If you are currently living on French side with Frontalier status you should turn for advice to "Groupement Transfrontalier Europeen" in Annemasse (74)  and also present in St Genis Pouilly (01) with same telephone +33 892 70 10 74

You have worked for seven years in Geneva so you should also re-read your work contract to claim for any further help and job search assistance in your HR department , specially should you be part of a restructuration plan.

Looking for judicial advice in your commune of residence (lawyer-on-duty at city hall ) and/or in Geneva at Lawyers' Permanence are two more options.

Hello Tammy,

Sorry to hear that!

If I'm not mistaken, frontaliers will only get French unemployment benefits, not the Swiss rate.

Good luck for your job search!
