I'm a consultant for HR more specifically in the area of skill assessment and training for people in search of a career change. cv's, cover letters, interview skills ( both for employer and candidate) is my field of expertise. if you feel i could bring something to the group, i'd be pleased to join and contribute what i can.

That is find for me as well and I think it's a better idea to make sure that we are able to plan something more in advance and reach the more people that we can. So what does everybody else think about next week?

next week works for me almost any day. if possible near the main station. starbucks is usually a pretty good place.

Shell we say next Tuesday at Starbucks by the train station at 6?

Great to see that my initiative around a CS HR-group is facing a lift-off! Unfortunately I'm in Sweden until the 12th of Dec, but I will for sure arrange a meeting as soon as I'm back, during the weekend of 12-14th of Dec. Do indeed go right a head and throw a meeting already next week, and see you all in 2,5 weeks! :)

HR-group meeting Monday the 14th of December, at 18h00

Arriving in Geneva two weeks from now, I'd like to suggest a HR-group meeting on Monday the 14th of December, at 6 pm. Let's meet and see what we can come up with in this group! Some of you already meeting at Starbucks next week, and that sounds like a fair place to meet. So let's say Starbucks for the meeting Monday the 14th as well. Est-ce que cela vous convient? Hi, 4 of us turned up on a chilly night and it was a combination of the first meeting and from my point of view, 2 of us are looking for work as well as HR colleagues and we focused on that aspect. Jarina and Roger were very supportive. Hopefully with the next meeting we can offer to focus on a range of HR subjects.

I'm a student in England at the moment in my 3rd year studying Tourism Management. I have just finished a 3-month placement in France (Moellesulaz- near Geneva) and I really want to find another placement in Geneva for 6 months in marketing or HR or in the general Tourism sector. I can speak french (general conversation and business conversations have improved). I really really want to stay in Geneva and I have been looking for a job to start in January- do You have any ideas where I can apply? This would be massive help!!!! thanks :)

Hi! It was nice to meet some of you earlier this week! Let's hope there will be more of these meetings to come in 2010!

So what did we talk about? Well, mainly about what everyone is doing, as well as focusing quite a bit on hints around the Geneva HR job market. All in all it felt like this very informal and casual meeting I would have hoped it would be!

How about meeting next time Thursday the 4th of February? When holidays are over and you need some inspiration before spring!

Hi all HR-people of Geneva! We hade a great meeting last Thursday at...well, not La Galerie where they didn't approve of the invasion of a large group of English speakers (yes, that was actually one of the arguments), so instead we went to the cosy café Saveurs et Couleurs, just a stone throw away in Les Grottes. There we had a tour around the table, presenting ourselves briefly, and then the discussions took different directions during the evening.

We talked a bit on how we could develop these HR group meetings further, and one of the suggestions was to make it a little more of a workshop. This as we are now already so many at these meetings, that it's hard to profit from what everyone is saying with this growing size of group. So I'm on that task for the moment, trying to come up with a fair solution for the next meeting.

I also did some walking around, checking out several places to see if any of them could fit the workshop set up for the next meeting. I fell especially in love with Brasserie les Halles de l'île, where we now have a very flexible and casual solution, fitting some 30 people in their "La Verrière". Looking forward trying it out.

I haven't set the next meeting yet, but jot a little note in your calendars for Monday the 22nd of March. More to come around the subjects for the workshop etc.
