Hairdresser

Hi, i can say now that the answer to this question will likely come from a girl, and will not come from a british guy with short back and sides. If you happen to be a bloke with short back and sides please go to another posting.

Can anybody who knows their stuff recomend a good hairdresser for me. I have a phobia of hairdressers, really.  I have mediumly long straight hair (very long for a British guy) that needs a trim/style without destroying it.    I cannot just walk in and try any old one.  I need a proper one, that uses good scissors and cuts in that professional jaggedy way that removes  ones hair without making it look like i went to a sheep shearer.

Anywhere city centre or Carouge would be convenient.  Thanks a lot

Rather than risking a "disastrous" trial session locally, it might be cheaper and more satisfactory to take an easjet day trip to the UK.  At least, you'd know what you'd get for your money.

Sorry I can't help. Looking at the photo, you badly need a good one. Heck, even a sheep shearer could do a better job than that, brother :-)

Hello Alan,

I've had a male friend who went to Dom Hairstyling at Paquis and had a really good haircut. http://www.domhairstyling.ch/.  I think he told me it was 60-65CHF, and it looked nice for a several months - a sign of a really professional cut.

I've been meaning to try that one as well, but like what Ritchie said, I've been cutting my hair in the UK too, but I am there for the shopping too, so...

Anyway, good luck!

Alan,

In almost 8  years living in the area, I have only had  one really good hairdresser, but she has dissappeared. Second best is at Chantalou, in Ferney Voltaire.

Insist on getting the owner to cut your hair, and tell him exactly what you want ("professional jaggedy way"= degrade) and he will get it right. But don't let anyone else in his shop get his hands on your hair. I did once, and was very dissappointed.
