Helath Insurance SCAM and borderline illegal practice. Help NEEDED.
I personally had only bad experiences with Mutuel.

After being wrongly informed by their employees already once, I discovered today that they told me already another bunch of lies.

I had a collective contract signed by my company. When I quit in May I have been told that I could not change my insurances (basic) till the end of the year BUT that I COULD change my complementary insurance premium, coverage level and QUIT IT, WHENEVER I wanted.

Guess what I found out today? that unfortunatelly they don't have the name of the girl that took care of my old contract registered anymore. AND unfortunately IT IS NOT true that I can quit the complementary insurance whenever i want. Actually I NEED TO send a bloody resiliation letter 6 months in advance before the end of the year (something that they conveniently forgot to mention when it was MAY and i still could do it).

They also forgot to mention that I cannot change my coverage whenever I want, (only before end of October) and btw that I need to have a certain level of coverage for maternity starting 1 year before I actually get pregnant. (I am not pregnant, but that's not the point ... ) ..... So now I have a crap coverage and cannot quit the damn insurance for another year. Left with 2 options, pay for the new complementary insurance with CSS as of now (so pay 2 insurances for 1 year) or stick with a low coverage till 2010, change then and then have to wait till 2111 to get pregnant (not that I am planning, just in case the bf is reading it).

Now, the first time around they messed it up by 'forgetting' to update my home address, and then charged my lots of delay expenses for bills i never received. I asked them to send me the total I owed them so I could pay ... and they sent me a bill with the wrong total, so that out of the blue I found myself with a poursuite to pay for my medical bill without even knowing I had to pay it (not to mention all the extra cost). And now this.

Any one can help and knows if there's any way not to pay this borderline illegal insurance??

please don't tell me i should have red the fine print. I never received a contract, as It was signed by procter and when i quit the customer service told me I could not change it, so I just had to sign a paper that authorized me to keep the same contract by now paying it myself (instead then sending the invoice to PG) ... So .. I never saw the fine prints, and asked for as many questions I could think of to them directly. Shame that I did not get an honest answer.

Vale,

you should see with a lawyer, bearing in mind that if you do, you may have to go to court to be heard *but* judges tend to rule in favor of the insured and not in favor of the insurance. You could also see with a competitor and ask them for help. The may jump in if you are willing to sign a contract with them. It also depends on the paper you signed. If it's not a proxy, I doubt that the insurance can extend your contract if you did not formally agreed to it in writing. It's PG' problem, not yours and you should also see with their counsel.
