Help for resignation needed - date

Dear All,


 
Due to family reasons I will move to Geneva and need to re-sign at my current employer for end March. I need to respect the two month notice period. Which date do I need to put in the resignation letter? 31st March or 31st May?

2 months from the end of the present month .  also, the letter must be registered ( recommendée)
