Horse Boarding near Geneva

We are potentially relocating to Geneva and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me where to board horses?  We have several and I'm looking for a place close enough to the city that I can make it out to see them daily.  Good care is paramount.  Any information, suggestions, pricing would be very much appreciate.

There are lots of stables around Geneva, for example in Genthod and Chavannes-de-Bogis. I have no idea if they allow you to keep your horse there; you'll just have to go and ask.

Edward,

Thank you for your reply.  My hope is that someone who has knowledge of the local horse scene can fill me in on the details about which I am inquiring.  I realize I can drive around and ask, but those with experience can give me a general idea and direction.

Depending if you live on Geneva right bank side or left bank side there are numerous pension stables in the Canton located close to green fields and riding trails.

Please see

http://yellow.local.ch/en/q/Geneva%20%28Canton%29/Pension%20stables.html

where you have a choice of nine. Vandoeuvres near Cologny is a good reference and you also can check in Puplinge, Corsier and La Pallanterie possibly.

Corsier is a good pick and it is a family business.

Otherwise if you are considering over the border in Haute-Savoie(74) france there may still be some vacancies in Douvaine - Neydens - St Cergue - Monniaz - Juvigny. All within 2 - 15 minutes from swiss border line.

tariffs per month

in Corsier >>> http://www.manege-corsier.com/index2.php?rubID=3&lan=fr

in Vandoeuvres >>> www.ecuriedecrete.ch/tarifs.php

in Corsinge >> www.hautsdecorsinge.ch/tarifs.html

Beyond swiss border line in french frontally zone boarding rates start from ca. € 500. which means less.

Hi. I brought my horse here from the us and I board him in France. It's a 25 minute drive from junction/carouge and I love it. Price is good and the horses are very well cared for. Let me know if you want more info. Mette

Hi Lee,

I took my first horseriding lessons at Evordes, decades ago.

The owner has changed since then, but I guess it's still a good place.

Located on the left bank of Geneva, between Carouge and the French border, in Croix-de-Rozon.

http://www.evordes.ch/

Monthly rate for full horse boarding is chf 1'350.-

It's probably cheaper in France ...

Apart from price and km, you may also consider what you want to do with your horse: working in the manege or going out for some 1-2 hour rides (as some areas of Geneva are limited in terms of fields & horse trails, whihout having to cross a road every 100m)

Here is the link for Swiss rules on importation of horses. That's the one for horses coming for the E.U. (had a quick look and couldn't find the one for the US)
