Horseback Riding

Looking to just ride

I am a lifetime horseback rider (Equestrian). For the past 10 years after university I have been off and on, but looking to ride a few times a week in the mornings. I do not own a horse anymore and do not want too (yet), but I want to be able to ride on my own without always having to take a lesson. Does anyone know of any stables around Geneva (with public transport) that offers this? I would also be interested in leasing a horse... THANKS!

Hi Hana,

I'm sure someone will have a suggestion for you.

Have to say always loved the phrase "horseback riding".  What other parts of the horse do people ride??!!

My son rides at http://www.lachaumaz.ch, and I think they also offer what they're looking for. They're in Geneva canton but a bit out of town tho, and I think that's the case with most stables around here, cos they need large spaces.

If you like to ride I have reformed racehorses that I take in from the meat market. But I am in France. I know you can come here from Geneva my friend takes the train to visit me. If you are interested in horses and beautiful horses then you are welcome to come and ride out with me. I have a 5 and 3 year old. I take them in from the racetrack so they do not get sold for meat. I have my own land and stables. Also a small inddor riding school where I start them off. You can see pictures of my farm on this website wwww.holidaylettings.co.uk  ID 494078/355542

There is a TGV train from Geneva that comes to Bourg en Bresse.

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for the feedback :) I am looking into everything.

Charmaine - your place looks amazing! It is so amazing that you have saved these horses. It is too far for me to come, but I would love to get more information about saving these horses. I think if I took up riding again very seriously I would want to do that as well!
