Hotmail account blocked - HELP!

Hotmail very kindly blocked my account last night for security measures as they suspected a third party had tried to access my account. They said it would take a few minutes to resolve. After a very frustrating day of going round and round in circles and following all their instructions to retrieve the account to no avail I am now appealing to any glocals member/s who may have encountered this situation.

They have no customer service except reams of info that takes one on a wild goosechase through a myriad of links leading to square one!

Thanks

Hermes

Switch to Gmail, The best email service on the planet,

First of all, their spam filter can't be beat. I haven't seen webmail that would detect spam messages more accurately (and I also have a Yahoo! account, it doesn't come close) Most of all it supporst IMAP.

Second, the conversation view is something truly ingenious, so simple but it saves lots of time! I never want to go back to the "old" way of viewing messages now.

Third, their advertising is probably the most inconspicuous (simple text ads), as compared to other services which often show bright, animated banner ads.

I could probably list more reasons, but consider this. Before Gmail came along, all other webmails were clunky, slow and cluttered, with very limited storage space. Gmail provided the competition and made everyone shape up.

So get a new gmail account and forget microsoft's junk,

a friend of mine had this happen to her boyfriend, and asked me to help. when i started tryign to get it sorted found the same kind of wild goose chase that you're describing. you get a series of links, that eventually take you back to the first one. the way i eventually used was to get them to resend a password confirmation to a mobile phone, however switzerland was not one of the supported countries, so had to send the sms to a friend in france, and get them to then fwd it to me... complete and utter sh1te i have to say!

if you can change, go to gmail as waqas suggests, its safer, gets hacked less, and is able to let you back into your account without spending hours going in circles! PM me if u need more help.

while i agree that gmail is a far superior service, that's not really a solution to the blocked hotmail account, not to mention the history of emails that are there.

@hermes do you only read your email using a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Chrome? You might be able to circumvent the block by configuring an email client on your computer or mobile phone.

If you have any questions, you know where to find me.
