I have a coffee pot that no longer works, a huge VCR from the 90's that hasn't been used for over five years, an old juice maker that's dead.... I was gonna recycle them but I don't know how.....
Where do you take stuff like that?

According to the free calendar I got in the mail this year from the City of Geneva, there is an agreement with stores that sell electronics to recycle them as well. There's some sort of tax already placed on the items when you buy them for this purpose and therefore the stores are supposed to accept them back, 'sans frais'.
I've never done this, yet, but I suggest you just go into Migros electronics or Interdiscount and ask to confirm.

There might be dechetteries closer to you than the French ones in this link (they probably won't take the waste, if it comes from a non-resident).

Any electronics store will take them.
Apart from electronics stores, you can drop them in one of these 3 different places in Geneva, with easy access by car:

you can drop them off at the loading dock at Media Markt, or at any retailer that sells those types of elecrtonics, EU law says they must take all equipement they sell for recycle, even if you bought it somewhere else.
