How much does a Doctor visit cost in Geneva?

I've been told that doctors charge 120 CHF fot the first 5 minutes, and then other amount for every extra 5 minutes. Also that they charge extra if they have to check you, take your pressure, etc. Is this true?


Do they all charge the same or there are different rates? Becouse I called different doctors offices and the secretarys weren't able to tell me how much they charge. Am I supposed to just go and let they charge me whatever they want?


Please tell me how does it work and if you know any GP in Champel or near that zone, that speaks english or spanish.

I've seen Dr Till Saxer at this practice in Champel. I believe he speaks perfect English, as does one of the receptionists. The price you mention sounds about right, they are obliged to stick to a pricing scale and a short appointment always seems to cost 120-180.

The minimum charges for visiting any general physician costs around CHF 125.- to 150.- that too with appointment. As without appointment they charge emergency charges.


However, if you go to HUG with appointment it may costs half price like CHF 50.- to 75.-


and in HUG if you go without appointment you may end up by spending whole day for waiting for your number.


So, the choice is you either spend money or time :D
