How to: scrap a scooter, in Geneva
Hi all,

So, my scooter failed its inspection and will cost more to fix than it's worth* and so now I need to scrap it. Does anyone know the procedure? I need to do it before the follow up inspection (18th December) and I guess I'll need to return the plates etc.

Cheers,

Ed

*I was completely conned incidentally - the reason it failed was the garage who sold it to me had apparently replaced the catalytic convertor with duff one, AFTER it passed the prior inspection and before they sold it to me. They're now bust, so there's not much I can do.

Ed,

I don't know the answer, but I know who will have it for you.

Either the 'Service des Automobile' on 022.388.30.30, or - in case your french is not too hot and those guys don't speak English - call George, who runs the Scooter Scoop Garage and speaks English, on: 022 734 02 54

I think, but am not sure, the process is simple and free: you call a state-owned service that comes to collect the scooter for free, and then you just give back the plates.

Good luck,

NIr
