How to Obtain a Russian Tourist Visa in Geneva

Hello Genevans,

I hope everyone is surviving these insanely windy and cold days.

In early April I am going to Moscow for the weekend.  I hold a US passport but am working here in Geneva.

I have downloaded the Russian Tourist Visa application, and have prepared everything the Russian authorities want, including an "invitation" from my hotel.  Can I just print all these documents and bring them by hand to the Russian Consulate in Servette?  What is the fastest and easiest way of getting this Russian Tourist Visa without having to hire an expediting or visa assistance service?

Thanks,

Altho it seems a lot of hassle its actually really easy, have an invitation, copy of your permit, photo, application and passport.  Book an appointment at the embassy in servette, go down hand it all in you will be given a pink paying in slip, pay it straight away, just round the corner, take the reciept back to the embassy drop it in and you collect your passport with visa 5 days later

Just make sure you are there before 9am as there is normally a long queue, if you join the queue too late you risk not getting in, and they are not open everyday, I think it's Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, I'm not sure you will have to check their site.

Peaky, DJ_Symcard, and Taivanova30 -

Thank you for the helpful responses.

I was able to get my hotel to prepare the Invitation Letter and send it to me via e-mail.  I have called the Geneva Consulate and have an appointment with them next week to turn in the application, invitation letter, and copies of my passport and pictures.

I am excited about my first trip to Russia!
