Well easy one need to find some furniture to fill my soon to be new apartment (if I get it). I know IKEA in Allaman but is there anywhere else in Geneva that is reasonable, looking for everything, like modern and quirky designs... also let me know if you’re selling second hand. :)

There's a furniture store on the top restaurant/bowling alley level of La Praille. Sorry, I don't know it's name but the prices are reasonable. The last time I was there they had some very interesting pieces.

You can find quirky stuff at the flea market at Plainpalais -- the market is on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8-5 pm...

You can also find your furnitures at "Interio" a swiss store close to Carrefour in Avanchet direction, on Meyrin road (or take a look at the swiww yellow pages on their website).
It's basic and cheap. But according to me with a low design...

Second hand furniture is sold by charities like Caritas, Salvation Army or Emmaüs, but it's not necessarily modern...

There is also a Conforama (their flyer is on their website at www.conforama.ch) that is near Vernier.
If you have car access there are four "home stores" in Val Thoiry, although I forget their names. The two in the strip-mall section of the shopping area are modern and have some very fun pieces! I could furnish our whole place at those two shops :)
