I just moved to Geneva and was lucky enough to get an apartment in my first week (Servette area). Now I need to furnish and as I am only here for a year I figure IKEA is my best bet. I know there is one a few towns over as I spotted it from the highway/train. Where is the closest IKEA to Geneva and how can I get there? Do I need to rent a car or can I get there via the train and public transit?
Also, do they deliver to Geneva and if so, how long would it take? My French is not so good so I can't interpret the website.
Thanks so much in advance!

The nearest one is IKEA Aubonne where you can get by train
Depending on distance, the shipping costs between 10% and 16% of the value of the goods, but at least CHF 95 .- and maximum CHF 500 .-. Delivery is to your home (handy if you cannot use the elevator). You can also rent a van at 0848 801 100.

Hi,
We (my boyfriend and I) also live in Servette area, and have a bunch of things we need to get in IKEA in the near future.
Maybe we could plan the trip together, and split the bill for a rental truck? Let me know if you think that might be interesting.
