About Ikea Geneva:

Does anyone know when exactly it opens, and where it is?

Thanks,

Nir

hi Nir,

it is already opened actually! since the 15th.

It is in Vernier, reachable by either bus (stop Renfile) or tram (Blandonnet), just behind Interio.

I've been there last week and I got the impression the exposition space is smaller than Aubonne.

in addition to this...

It is easier to ride the tram 14 or 16 direction Meyrin Graviere then go down at blandonnet (I think 2nd stop after balexert) then from there you will see Ikea.

Big thanks everyone, appreciate the helpful feedback.

So this Saturday it's shopping at the new Geneva Ikea...(-;

I got to tell you, I never got the excitment over the meat-balls and hot-dogs at Ikea. But by the line ups for it, I'm the only one out there who didn't get the excitment...(-:

Thanks again,

Nir

I found the new Ikea a little frustrating. Half the stuff I wanted to look at (I had a two page list) was in stock, but not on display. That is not very helpful when I need to measure interior drawers, etc.  So, Aubonne is still my main Ikea.

OK, was at the Geneva Ikea today. Smaller than Aubonne indeed, but they carry all the most popular stuff.

If I need a wide range of things I might go to Aubonne. If I need something specific, Geneva is the way to go.

If you're going there for the food and go there on a Thurs. night, I would certainly say get there early to avoid the queues!  But agree with Nir, it's great if you're looking for specific items and definitely quicker to get to!

I used Charlie's advise and it worked perfectly. Went on Thursday - Entered the parking lot at 12:05 and exited at 12:45. Got exactly what we needed and got out.

Almost painless.

Thanks Charlie!
