Intern in Geneva, Living in Ferney - Tax Implications?

Hi, I guess this has probably been addressed somewhere here before, but please I just need some clarifications on the tax implications of working for six months as an intern in Geneva and living in Ferney-Voltaire. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you have started your internship this year, then the tax declaratiion is to be done next Year 2016 for the year 2015. however, you might  not have to pay anything extra to France.

if you have moved in your accomodation after 1st January of this year, you won't be liable for the council tax nor the tv licence. (Anyone renting an accommodtion saying it includes the tax d'habitation / if you have moved in after 1st January of this year/ has not got the right to do so).

Thanks for your reply TreeOf Life, I really appreciate it. Since I will be working as an intern for six months (starting from March), I guess I might not have to pay any French tax even if I live in Ferney.

Hi Emmanuel, if you are working in Geneva (unless you are working for UN) you pay everymonth "Impot a la source" in Geneva canton. If you will stay only 6 months here, you won't receive anything from the french authorities next year (maybe you will be gone beginning 2016). So you shouldn't be worried about as you pay your taxes every moth. If you have any other question, please send me a private message
