I will be in geneva for work for 6 months. I have just moved into an apt which doesnt have a phone line. Whats the best way to get an internet connection there?
1. Get a USB connections from Swisscome, Orange, etc? (But the prepaid ones can end up costing a lot, right?)
2. Get a phone line and a wireless connection? (do they do shorter than a year contracts?)
Any ideas or comments will be appreciated.

Nope, nobody does a monthly or short term contract ... this is what happens in protected markets without effective competition.
I reserarched it all 4 months ago before moving into my apartment coz I was not sure if I wanted to stay in this apartment for more than a few months.
However I know of a way that you can get a connection, involves little to no installation (is almost instant) and you get a connection for exactly the time period you want ..
Oh & it is perfectly legal and ethical.
Did I mention it costs no more than any other Internet connection ...
Well I certainly didn't mention I only share the secret with truly good friends
