Irish Graduate looking for work and good nights out!

Hi everyone! Just moved to Geneva a week ago...I have a degree in Communication, Advertising and Marketing, but finding it quite difficult to spot any jobs for English (only) speakers! Does anyone have any contacts/colleagues who are looking for office assistants or anything similar just to start me off? Looking forward to some good glocal nights out! :)

Hi Catherine,

I don;t envy you, its a tough one in this neck of the woods. I would say get job alerts from jobs.ch and all the other sites etc. You'll see a lot crossover amongst the companies. perhaps get into UN, Who job sites and get your CV up there you never know what might pop up. The next and most vital piece of advice I can give you around here, is get your sunday best on and get out around town networking. Start at these Glocals events, we see frequently a lot of requests such as yours so we do tend to put them in the corner with the pile next to 'looking for a House in GVA' requests. However you would be suprised you are talking to at a Glocals event, and it may result in a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately I don;t know anyone in your field in GVA, ever thought of Banking??

Best of Luck

Kev

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your response!

I have been looking into all of your recommendations, it seems it really is not what you know but who you know in Geneva! I looked at Banking applications but the criteria asks for banking experience which I dont have..

I'll keep searching and will definitely attend a few Glocals events :)

Thanks,

Catherine.
