Jan 2 - Holiday or not?

Can anyone tell me if Jan 2 is a bank holiday in Geneva? My boss says not and insists its a normal working day, but everyone I know has the day off...

http://www.bank-holidays.com/holidays_2012_321.htm

From the list of holidays, you should note that Geneva is a Protestant city, so accordingly.

2nd January is a bank holiday because they close the book/bank clearings. but still many backoffice work. but other companies work because its not a national day off in Geneva.

Vendredi-Saint, vendredi 29 mars 2013;
Lundi de Pâques, lundi 1er avril 2013;
Jeudi de l'Ascension, jeudi 9 mai 2013;
Lundi de Pentecôte, lundi 20 mai 2013;

= 'for companies not subject to the Federal Act on work in industry, crafts and trade, when a holiday falls on a Sunday, the day after this day - in this case on January 2, 2012 - is declared public holiday'

This means if a public holiday lands on Sunday, then the next day Monday is considered a public holiday.
