July 4th Fireworks, BBQ etc

Hey Gang,


So I know there'll be the private parties as always and that Dems Abroad played vs. the Republicans in a softball game to honor this event last weekend.... BUT Where are the fireworks? Where is the massive cookout? How come there is no big July 4th party in town?


I live in paquis and frequently see different groups of people shooting off fireworks from the Perle du Lac area for various occasions - is anybody (US Mission to the UN?) doing anything in a park / by the lake to celebrate on the day of the event?


If not - don't people want to organize something? I would love to participate in setting something up - but obviously as far as actual real fireworks are involved it's probably a little late to get authorization from the local gov't...


Thoughts? Suggestions?
