I think that the best way would be to take several lessons at some driving school or ask a friend to give you some advice. It's easy, you can find some tips on youtube

I am in the same boat though my husband actually knows how so plans to teach me... though it might be better to take a class! We are buying a secondhand manual transmission car, however, so I will have no choice but to learn how. I found this driving school although -- unsurprisingly -- it is not cheap.
